Pastor and Facilitators

Pastor Aaron Mayo

Since 2017 my wife and I have worked to serve the community of the South Hill in Spokane, WA. It wasn’t long into that mission that we came face to face with the addiction crisis in our city. Saved and Sober offers a biblical proven approach to leading people out of addiction. There is no hope outside of Jesus and his church. Saved and Sober uses the 12-step program in combination with the word of God to break the bondage of addiction. We look forward to working with people from all backgrounds as they work toward spiritual, physical, and emotional wholeness.

Facilitator Nathan Simonds

My name is Nathan Simonds. My wife Sierra and I have attended Cornerstone South since 2021. Before experiencing a saving relationship with Jesus Christ, I was an alcoholic, addicted to pornography, and pretty much what one would describe as a hopeless degenerate although I wasn’t honest enough with myself to see it that way at the time. I found freedom in Jesus and look forward to encouraging others as they seek freedom from addiction. I believe no one is hopeless no matter how deep a hole you’ve dug.

Facilitator Matthew Simonds

My name is Matt Simonds. I am married to my wife, Shawnee, and together we have three children: Carson, Paxton, and Charlette. My battle with substance abuse began at fourteen, starting with alcohol, pills, and tobacco. What began as experimentation quickly became a freight train headed for destruction. Throughout my twenties, I lived in a painful cycle of sobriety and relapse, fighting not only for my life but for my family. When we walked into Cornerstone Church South, everything changed. Through the Holy Ghost, my family, and my church, I found true freedom. Through Saved and Sober, I share the tools that grounded me. The Great Shepherd found me, and He offers that same hope to you.
